Our Week: July 8-12, 2019

It was a busy week at Workman Communications but we pushed through!

This week we returned to an ongoing project of ours called “11th and R”. This is a Mixed Use development which will be home to (26) luxury apartments on the top floor and restaurant/retail on the bottom. This building is mid-construction so we have been prewiring for data/voice and CCTV. We also installed access control to a few locations throughout the building. For this particular project we installed a 19 inch swing frame wall rack. This 600mm depth cabinet is part of a Pro Series and can be wall-mounted or self standing and is great for organizing your networking equipment.   Check out this short article about it: Sac Bee 11th & R

We also returned to Earthcircle Organics in Lincoln, CA to make some progress on our installation of CAT6 cable. We returned on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Working on the scissor lift to install CCTV cables and CAT6 cables is time consuming but our technicians worked through the heat, taking multiple water breaks, to make a large dent in this project! They did and amazing job! We also installed the same 19 inch swing frame wall rack that we installed at 11th and R, over at Earthcircle. In addition to that rack we also installed a cooling cabinet. This cooling cabinet includes multiple fans to help keep the equipment from overheating

A new customer of ours that found us on YELP, needed a new Access Point installed. This is a trucking company located in Sacramento, called ABF Freight. Once we arrived, with our tallest ladder, we found that their existing Access Point was actually still good, and their issue was due to the cabling! Instead of swapping out their Access Point, we fixed their cabling by patching it over to a new port. This saved them time and money! We’ll be back in the future to help with all their cabling needs.

Last but not least, we swapped out a TV for a residential customer. This customer had a 50 inch plasma for about 15 years and she recently purchased a new 60 inch. We removed the old plasma TV, moved the mount over about 2″ and installed her new TV. Our techs took the old plasma to the recycling center for proper e-waste disposal. The customer was very satisfied and even wants us to come back to install her Yamaha 780 AV Receiver and hook up her Apple TV!
